About Yoga Yoga

After traveling the world taking lots and lots yoga in lots of different places with lots of different teachers we bring you the best of the best. Oh yeah, Heated Yoga (30C), not Hot Yoga! It is for every body.

Yes, this is for you. No matter your age. 75 minutes of Powerful movement guaranteed to strengthen, enhance flexibility and create calm. We call it a moving meditation.

As we age, we get less flexible and our bodies weaken. Not exactly new information is it? The truth is that it doesn’t have to be. Practising with us will reverse the aging process. For body and mind. Oh yeah and burn the calories. We knew you would ask.

Natasha Coffey

Natasha is the founder of Yoga Yoga-Heated Yoga, and is excited to be able to make the beautiful experience of Yoga accessible and affordable to so many people in Ireland. While she first began her discovery and journey of Yoga in the “Hot Yoga” tradition, she quickly found other beautiful teachings and other styles in America and Asia. She chose to train with Jimmy Barkan in Florida as she loves yoga in the heat and Barkan’s teaching style and mentorship is for everyone to grow, evolve and find “their own voice, their own words, and their own practise.” She was certified to teach Hot Yoga by Jimmy Barkan in 2011. Natasha is a Molecular Biologist and has a PhD in Drug Delivery for Gene Therapy as also holds a Masters degree in business. She worked for several years in Cancer Research and in the Medical Devices Industry, so she approaches her teachings and practise from both a scientific and holistic approach. Natasha teaches a vigorous, energetic class with particular attention to each detail of the postures allowing her students to learn quickly to get the full benefits of the practise.

Ken Coffey

Ken Coffey

Ken was reared in Alaska and has been practising yoga for 15 years starting his practise in the Bikram (“Hot Yoga”) tradition. He was training for his black belt in martial arts when he took a Hot Yoga class and was surprised at its intensity and amazing effects and was instantly hooked. Ken has continued to evolve his practise over the 15 years by studying with Baron Baptise, Jimmy Barkan and other teachers while travelling the world. Ken was an avid runner, triathlon competitor and martial artist. In addition, he has summited some of the world’s highest mountains, including the highest mountain in North America–Denali. He believes the vigorous activity at high altitudes was made much more enjoyable using breathing techniques he learned in his yoga practise. Ken is a “once-upon-a-time-long-ago” musician and guitarist and guides the music for our classes. Ken’s classes are dynamic, experiential, intense, yet fun.

Mike Matthews

Mike Matthews

Mike Matthews, a long time Galwegian, and avid athlete is one of our newest members to our teaching staff. Mike spent his professional life as an engineer in the IT field. He enjoys spending much of his spare time running, swimming and biking. Mike is a Level-2 Swimming Instructor and an avid tennis player.
Like many people, Mike found his way to Heated Yoga by a recommendation of his Physio while he was being treated for his running injuries. While training with Ken and Natasha, Mike found yoga in the heat a perfect “antidote” to the repeated compressions of athletic pursuits. After his introduction to yoga and full immersion in his yoga training he found not just the physical and athletic benefits but also the emotional and spiritual components of yoga to be profound–creating new insight into the total yoga experience including the human bonds that are created through the yoga experience. Mike teaches a powerful class enhanced by his deep experience in sport, health and nutrition. Mike’s energy and infectious smile radiates very special warmth.

Rebecca O Donoghue

Rebecca O Donoghue

Rebecca is also one of our newest members of our staff. Rebecca began practising yoga at the age of 16 eventually finding “her place” when she met Ken and Natasha. She quickly became one of their most enthusiastic, dedicated, and talented students. Rebecca found the physical and mental benefits of Heated Yoga to be profound especially helping her ability to concentrate on her studies. Rebecca’s voice and dialog project a beautiful calm while still teaching a powerful flowing class.

Ann Heskin

Ann Heskin

Ann first qualified as a Neuromuscular Physical Therapist in 2006 and became a Pilates teaching two years later. She began teaching Pilates based upon the recommendation of a family member who was a GP working with sports teams who saw the need for injury prevention and rehabilitation. She continues to work closely with physicians and physios who recommend their patients to her along with the general public as a physical strength, flexibility, and postural program.
She began her yoga journey first in the Ashtanga tradition five years ago and was certified to teach yoga in the Yoga Synergy method with the Yoga Shala. She then found yoga in the heat with Ken and Natasha and found she loved the classes and the heat. She states “I love the way that YogaYoga offers yoga for everyone in an inclusive way, and I also love the workout!”
Ann works for a US multinational in Galway city and she sees the benefits of Yoga and Pilates for people who are inactive at their desks all day long. She enjoys seeing the attitudes whereby companies are slowing introducing Yoga and Pilates classes into their overall corporate wellness programs. We are delighted to bring Ann’s enthusiasm, energy and her extensive knowledge in the physical arts to our YogaYoga students!

Frequently Asked Questions

To help your first class go as smoothly as possible here are a few tips:

We love meeting our new members. Please arrive 15 minutes before your first class to to have a chat with the teacher, fill in a form and let us know if you have any injuries or something that may affect your practise. We can then offer suggestions adjustments.

We provide the mats so just bring a long towel and a bottle of water. If you have your own mat you are welcome to bring it.

Wear light loose gym clothes. Nothing too heavy as it is a heated room after all. 🙂

Treat your first class as your discovery class, it takes at least three or four classes to get the hang of a new sequence, so be patient with yourself. We won’t expect you to be an expert right away.

Feel free to take breaks and drinks as needed to through out the practice.

The standing series is the more intense part of the practice. It is about 40 minutes. The final 35 minutes is the floor series which is less intense and we focus on more on opening the entire body even more, strengthening the back.

Yes not a problem! We allow people to arrive late as leave early if they need to, just be mindful before and after class that we like to create a calm and inciting room so please keep noise and chat to a minimum so people can enjoy their last posture.
